...and a *really* BIG stamp. I still can't quite believe what it is that I am about to share with you. It's huge! Ginormous! Gargantuan! Massive! Colossal! Gigantic! ...and well, it's another dream realized as the Art Director for Cornish Heritage Farms.
The first time I stamped with the prototypes, I cried. Now, if you are afflicted with a true addition to stamping like I am, you may be able to understand why I was brought to tears. Those of you who have followed my blog or work the past two years know that I have been working for CHF during that time. You may not know what brought me to Richard and Liz's doorstep - Backgrounder stamps. I am all about tools, especially tools that let me get my crazy creative ideas out of my head and onto a surface. The Backgrounder stamp is that kind of tool for me. What could possibly top 4.5 x 5.75 inch stamps in the most gorgeous patterns you can imagine? I have one word to describe them.
Announcing...*drum roll please*
SCRAPBLOCKS - the first collection of 6 x 6 inch rubber stamps ever created!
Are you shocked? Ack!!! Can you believe? I am so excited I can't stand it. Seriously. No Seriously. Still freaking out here!!!
The CHF Creative Chicks and I will be providing some inspiration over the next week or so, until their release date on Tuesday, June 3rd. I have so much information to share with you about how I have envisioned these stamps, as an essential tool in your paper crafting arsenal. :-)
Monday's are of course CHF Challenge Chicks day - today's challenge was to create an Altered Project. The dog owners and lovers amongst you are going to LOVEY this, the rest of you are going to roll your eyes. Ha! If you like the concept, just change the contents and the tag. ;)
Would you look at that GLORIOUS piece of rubbah!?!?!
The die cut mini purse is from Accucut. You may be able to find it at your local scrapbook store. Many stores have a wonderful selection of large dies.
These stamps are mounted on high quality cling cushion just like other unmounted CHF stamps. We have had a special acrylic block designed for use with Scrapblocks, but I don't have mine yet! *laughs* No matter, it's the perfect chance for me to show you that you do not have to have a block to get a fabulous impression with a stamp of this quality. I have placed the stamp on one of our heavy clear card sheets (which will come packaged with the stamp) to ensure I can hold the stamp steady while brayering.
---------------------------------------
I inked the Fine Houndstooth Scrapblock with Coffee Archival ink (Ranger) and laid the die cut purse on the stamp.
--------------------------------------
Next, I placed a piece of white cardstock over the stamp, and while holding the corner of the clear card sheet with one hand, gently roll the brayer over the entire surface of the stamp. Carefully lift the white card stock off the stamp.
---------------------------------------
Look at that perfect image!!! I can't stand it. It's perfect. *happy happy sighs* I really am so blessed to work with a product that is so well made, and in the USA to boot!
------------------------------------
Back to being a dog lover, you see where I am going with this now right? LOL Three little Milk Bones fit perfectly!
---------------------------------------
Can you say *Hounds*tooth Doggie Bag? I know, I know...har har har right? :P Sorry, couldn't resist.
The tag was created with the Classic Circle Nestibilities, the Tag, You're It! and Cutie Pet-tootie stamp sets (Kim Hughes Collection), a Karen Foster eyelet and some jute. The bone was embellished with Liquid Applique and heat set to puff it up.
So, can you guess what I am going to be talking about for the next week? There is going to be a special treat on release day, so stay tuned! Thank you for your continued support of Cornish Heritage Farms. We work very hard every day to bring you an exceptional quality product that is made in the USA and backed by wonderful customer service, a commitment to education and inspiration from our dedicated Design Team. Thank you.

Isn't Liz the neatest person you have ever met?? She treats people and animals alike and is not afraid of work, that's for sure! I have been buying from her for 5 years and I really enjoy her commentary on how her animals are doing! That was before darling Hannah came into the picture, and I really enjoy reading her as she takes me back to my childhood days on my great-grandparents farm!

Oh, so cool! Why didn't anyone think of 6" x 6" backgrounds before???? Brilliant because I make mostly square cards so I'll be able to cover the whole card at once! These will definately be on my shopping list!

This is truly wonderful. I am so looking forward to seeing the other designs. And, of course, hoping that they will be affordable, so I can buy, say 30 or so of them ;^)*

Pawsitively fantastic!!! My dog, all 140+ pounds of him was sitting by me and I had to show him. He was pretty excited but I think he thought he was getting the treats so then I had to give in and give him one. Anyway, I have been wanting to do a houndstooth something dog related and just never got around to getting a houndstooth stamp. I like to make dog biscuits and I think this will be just the ticket - ah barkbecue ones or peamutt butter ones first? So, now my very own ginormous Murphy can have his own ginormus stamp as well! Thanks for sharing. Now, if only I could get you to mail him the sample - it would make my life so much easier. Thanks for such fun inspiration!
